Since 80’s our exile young Tibetans have shown a keen interest
in composing and making modern Tibetan album . Every year new
artists are coming up! and presenting a variety of melodies of
Tibet.
Well, I am myself a modern Tibetan singer. My name is Dorjee
Tsering and my wife is Lobsang Choedon. We have made three albums
called “ lhaksam” and today people know us by the
name Lhaksam. After three albums, I am working on a new one presently
in New York. My wife accompanies and helps me with singing. We
produce our own album without any financial support. It makes
it more difficult to sell albums when there are pirated copies
in the market. We don’t consider ourselves accomplished
musicians but what we do comes straight from our hearts and our
hearts always echoes Rangzen, Rangzen and Rangzen!!!!!!!!!!
Well, we know that there are tons of beautiful, hidden, talented
artists in exile, but poor markets and piracy problems discourages
them from showcasing their talents. I believe that making a Tibetan
album is a kind of expression of feelings through singing about
Tibet all over the world and it is one of the powerful weapon
against brutal Chinese also.
So, I have a message to all Tibetans in America and all over
the world. Please don’t discourage upcoming Tibetan artist
by buying pirated audio tapes or cds. Please tell your friends
to buy original CDs and audios. Your moral support will definitely
inspire up coming artists all over the world.
